A proud first-generation Latino American and member of the LGBTQ+ community, Bryan integrates his cultural and personal identity into his artistry, creating spaces where authenticity and collaboration flourish. ABOUT

Bryan Knowlton is an acclaimed New York– and London–based director, choreographer, and educator whose work transcends borders and genres. His career, which bridges Broadway, international stages, film, and television, reflects a lifelong devotion to storytelling through movement and a mastery of theatrical expression. From starring in the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line to shaping new works for the modern stage, he continues to redefine what it means to be a multifaceted artist in contemporary theatre.

A recipient of the NH Theatre Award for Best Choreographer and the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Award for Outstanding Choreography, with additional nominations from Berkshire, SALT, and BroadwayWorld, his body of work encompasses a vast range of productions. These include reimagined classics such as West Side Story, Chicago, and The Pirates of Penzance; contemporary favorites like In the Heights, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and The Wedding Singer; and an ever-expanding portfolio of original, regional, and international projects that showcase his breadth and innovation.

Since its inception, he has been attached as Director/Choreographer of In My Own Little Corner, continuing to lead its highly anticipated live capture and appearing in the companion documentary chronicling its creative evolution. His additional new work credits include The Only Way Out by Dea Thatcher Maglione (London), The Names We Gave Him by Ellen McLaughlin and Peter Foley, Come On To My House starring Trish LaRose, and the world premiere of Beehive the 70’s, produced by TRW Productions in partnership with the Mac-Haydn Theatre.

A sought-after educator and mentor, he serves on faculty at Broadway Dance Center and STEPS on Broadway in New York City, The International Theatre & Dance Project in Greece, and The Hub and House of Jazz in London. His teaching marries technical precision with a deep respect for storytelling, urging performers to approach their craft with authenticity, intelligence, and emotional truth.

With an artistic voice defined by vision, versatility, and humanity, Bryan Knowlton continues to shape the next generation of theatre while leaving an enduring mark on the global stage.
